Non-stop port flapping on RB2011UiAS running 6.30.1

Few days ago I’ve purchased Mikrotik RB2011UiAS-2HnD-IN and I have encountered reoccuring problems with issue that’s called port flapping - all ethernet interfaces goes up and down every 10 seconds or so.

Here in support forums multiple users has complained about this very issue, but without any single solution. Multiple posts suggests to replace cables from CAT5 to CAT6 shielded ones. This is not an option here, as all cables is in the walls and nobody’s going to replace them, because they worked just fine with previous SOHO low-cost router we had.

What I’ve done up till this moment:

  • Installed lastes RouterOS version (6.30.1)
  • Moved all connected computers and devices (including incoming cable from ISP) from Gigabit ports (1-5) to Fast eth ports (6-10), as it seems that this partly helped, as after this operation port flapping has occurred much less often

Could you give some tips or specific firmware fix for this problem? Because it’s bulls**t - buying 140€ worth router and having encountered such ridiculous problems.

what are Ethernet chips in devices you are using ?
you could try reset device to default, or http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:Netinstall

do you have latest RouterBOOT http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:RouterBOOT#Simple_Upgrade ?

I started losing connectivity at this router temporarily with 6.30.2 . It seems to have stopped now.

I don’t think it had happened with any of the versions I installed since 5.23

I had to reboot the router again.
