RB5009/L009 Rackmount Kit K-79 - Mounting screws?

Hello,

some months ago I got a shiny new RB5009UPr+S+IN. I now got the L009UiGS-RM as well and tried to mount both using the K-79 Rackmount Kit supplied with the L009.

Unfortunately, the L009 package only contained 4 screws to mount the L009 to the K-79 rack ears (in a bag labelled K-87), there were no appropriate screws supplied with the RB5009.

Which size are these screws?

Suggestion: Supply a bag of 4 screws with each RB5009 (or 16 screws whenever K-79 rack ears are supplied in a L009 package).

RB5009 should use the same screws as L009 since it’s basically the same enclosure, I would think ?

I assume that they are using the same screws.

Unfortunately the L009 came with the K-79 rack ears and just 4 screws, the RB5009 came with no screws and I need 8 screws to mount both (L009 and RB5009) in the K.79 rack mount kit… And it would be great to know, which size the screws are supposed to be, because the screws have a very tight fit in the K-79 mounting holes and I don’t want to just try force some random screws.

Best to ask support then.
They can tell you exactly what screws have been used.

I did some measurements and it seems to be M4 8mm. I still think it would be great if Mikrotik would supply the screws, either 4 screws with each RB5009 or a total of 16 screws whenever K-79 is shipped as part of each L009.

Most will never use those extra screws so mostly wasted.
Besides, those that might use it after a while, will probably not recall where they put it.
Wasted again.

So get a small amount at your local hardware store, I’m sure you will not have to win the lottery to pay for it :laughing:

Can I install it with 3M screws? I already bought the rackmount without screws.

If the original ones are M4 (8 mm length) of course not.
