i m very thankful to u for ur tips and its working nice.but i have still one question my dear
i hope u will help me to solve.
i m connecting two AP like this

AP1----------->mode=ap-bridge wds-mode=static

wlan1----------->10.1.0.1
ether1--------->10.1.2.1
bridge1---------->192.168.0.1
(wds1 and wlan1)
route----------->0.0.0.0/0 10.1.0.2

wireless interface---->connect list—>mac add 0f AP2 (wlan1)

AP2----------->mode=ap-bridge wds-mode=static

wlan1----------->10.1.0.2
ether1--------->10.1.3.1
bridge1---------->192.168.0.2
(wds1 and wlan1)
route------------>0.0.0.0/0 10.1.0.1 10.1.0.3

wireless interface---->connect list—>mac add 0f AP1 (wlan1)

i want to connect client (station mode) to AP2.

i can see wireless links up and i can ping each other.but i can’t connect AP2 to client(station mode)

client (station mode):
wlan1----------->10.1.0.3
ether1--------->192.168.0.30
route---------->0.0.0.0/0 10.1.0.2

i m trying to connect like this:
in AP2------>wireless interface---->access list—>mac add 0f client(wlan1)

i can connect client if i will add in connect list AP2 MAC address. i can ping from AP2 to client but i can’t ping
client to AP2.


so is it compulsory to write mac add of AP2 in client side?i don’t want to use client as a AP .

i m looking forward ur response.

yes,
i must thinking easy config, easy maintenance, easy to connect, but must secure for user will connect to my network from wire or unwire. i have centralized aaa and must using ‘transparant-network’.

my access points [Mikrotik] and other with wds support as ap or ap2ap

  1. put all interfaces into bridge
  2. put manage ip to bridge interface
  3. put default gateway
  4. put ip dns

my end stations [Mikrotik]

  1. mode=station for wireless interface
  2. put manage ip to wireless interface
  3. dhcp server and local subnet
  4. action=masquerade for ethernet user
  5. put default gateway
  6. put ip dns

my end station [nonMikrotik]

  1. just making bridge network or than add simple router separately

my consepts, user must be easy without many config to their machine. simple mean must plug and play for user

i cant understand the mode !!! i was thinking that if i have a WDS mesh then ALL the NODES including the one which is connected to the internet will have the same configuration , the same mode … isnt it or not ??
the mesh is about let’s say 3 nodes each one has 2.4G for clients and 5.8G for link the 2 wlan + ethernet are bridged .

don’t believed to me, but my suggestion working fine for my network and nice, simple with Mikrotik’s router & wireless.
that methode as i want. and running since 14 months ago. great… :wink:
this’s little report screen registration table for my second ap and you can see and i used 2,4ghz, ssid, freq
this ap action as ap2ap and ap2station with R52 one miniPCI and 13days uptime after updates …43 version. i got signal -34 for …E2 and …34 when i am not decrease them.

  1. on ethernet 8 unit workstations [factory]
  2. mac-address: xxxxxxxxxxx:4A as static-wds connected to central ap distance 7,2km signal -49
  3. mac-address: xxxxxxxxxxx:E2 as station distance 1,5km signal -62 5 unit workstations [office]
  4. mac-address: xxxxxxxxxxx:34 as station distance 2,5km signal -61 2 unit workstations [resident]
