tested ROS v6.0 and v6.1. for RB400 Series. But in v5.25 this bug does not exist.
User is registered successfully, paid by PayPal Server successfully. But he can not log in Hotspot
Status of payment transaction in UM is “Waiting”.
By v.5.25 log shows the responce messages from PayPal Server.
In v6.0 and v6.1. there are anything in log, although i was waiting for 5 minutes
To compare the status of payment by v6.1 and v5.25 see these screenshots
I have a feeling that nobody uses the User Manager or?
we wanted to upgrade from v5.25 to v6.1. Actually is the same UM such as v5.25.
There are no new features …
Only the versions are different …
I do not understand what Mikrotik has changed
Neither do I know what was changed, but we had the same problem and had to quickly go down back to 5.25 before we lost too many more customers! We were stupid enough to do this just before a busy weekend when we had a large number of visitors to the Marina. It wasn’t until two days later, on Sunday that I realised the cause for all the TimedOut’s was that UserManager stopped working with PayPal on v6.x! Now we are back on v5.25 it is working fine again. (Well, there are other problems with UM, but at least PayPal works again)
I obtained the exact same results you did above. Did you submit this as a support ticket when you created the forum post?
thanks for your post.
Yes, i submitted it already, before i wrote here. But until now i received no reaction from mikrotik support.
have you already contacted with support?
I don’t know whether you found some other bugs in UM especially with GUI.
See this link
There are a few problems with the UI of UM which has been there since v5. Sometimes you log in, and all the tables are blank. Well, the cells are all drawn across the page, but there is no user data populated into each cell of the table! You log back out, log in again, “bang” all the data is back again. Or sometimes you can log in and find the database has become read only. All the users are greyed out, you can’t add any profiles or edit their private information, so you reboot the server and all is fine again. If you refresh the web page using your browser refresh button, the table does not update with any new data, but if you change to another menu in UM, then come back, “bang” the new data appears.
So many random and different things are happening that make us disappointed with the lack of development time given to this package. The problem is that when these problems happen we are in a hurry and do not have the time to document every single time and to take screen shots of every problem and then raise support tickets. I have now created a 6 hourly reboot of the server to try to get rid of the major problems (such as the database becoming read only on the UI). It has helped, but I am worried that these reboots will one day corrupt the database! Thank goodness for my hourly backups
(We have tested with many different web browsers and different operating systems so we know the bugs are within the UserManager not the Browser / OS.)
But this latest bug with PayPal’s post back data not coming into UM is a VERY serious bug and caused us a lot of headaches. I have been told by MT that if they do not reply to your support ticket, it means they are either still trying to reproduce it in their test lab or they have agreed it is a bug and are actively fixing it, however I do not see it listed in 6.2rc1 changelog so they haven’t fixed it yet, or they have, but haven’t mentioned it in the changelog. Who knows.
