It would be nice to see some fake wireless interfaces on the CHR for lab purposes, for playing with CAPsMAN etc.

Giving VM exclusive control over USB device works fine, so it would be possible. Plus it could be useful for more than just testing. The problem is, RouterOS already had support for some USB wireless adapters, but it was removed, because according to MikroTik it wasn't stable. But even if there were some new devices with stable drivers, I can understand that it would not be priority for MikroTik, because they mainly want to sell their stuff.

Fake interfaces could be nice too. But to be really useful for testing, you'd also need fake clients and everything and it sounds more like task for virtualization software rather than RouterOS.

Exactly that was my point. Fake Ap without the clients is for nothing.
