R52n and 802.11n devices

Wed Jun 24, 2009 1:20 am

Hi.

RB433 + R52n
802.11n mode on, but my MacBook MB404 cannot connect to this wireless network.

It connect only when i stay near antenna (10-15 cm), and only 54Mbps.

With other 802.11n network i don't have any problem. MacBook connect with the speed 300Mbps, real bandwidth about 8-9 MB/s.

we have seen issues with Macs that are using braodcom chipset - they can't connect using 5ghz N mode, but they work in 2.4ghz.
We will try to find a fix for it.
FYI....

Hello to everyone, this is my first post...

Same problem here;I use the R52n card with RB493. I can't connect in pure-n mode with devices other than Mikrotik.

I've tried intensively yesterday with n-devices by ASUS, Linksys and Edimax.
They connect perfectly in b/g/n (but with 54Mbit max - G-mode) or b/g mode.
Additionally i cant connect in b/g/n Mode with my HP2133 (BCM4315), but i had problems with this one earlier, so i
guess this is a Broadcom problem.

BTW: Is it possible to serve n-mode network 2.4 and 5GHZ with a single card?

Greetings,

Martin

MacBook 802.11n at 5ghz appears to still be broken with R52N and RouterOS 4.3.

Winbox shows registration happening but no packets are able to be received.

802.11a works fine.

Has anyone gotten this to work or does anyone know the status of fixing this?

I certify that.

I'm tried to connect my PDA ASUS P750 to RB493 with R52N + uFl Swivel Antenna and ROS 4.3 - I can't do that or I'm get very unstable link at 5m distance :( . I'm tried ap bridge B/G modes, change antenna-mode, change HT chais - but without result.

Somebody solve this problem?

P.S. sorry, my English isn't so good

Hi i have also a Routerboard RB433UAH with R52N mikrotik minipci card. i can't setup 40mhz on this minipci, also mikrotik Tx said 150mbps but my laptop connect only 54 or 64mbps. on ubiquity i can connect with laptop in N mode at 150mbps but with this minipci card not.
i have an ASUS N61JV with Atheros 9285 chipset. Maybe is an issue with this chipset or incompatibility ?

When will be fixed this.

if you use both antennas, enable both chains in the HT wireless tab, and enable extension channel support.

i have R52N on 433UAH connected with one antenna. Does mikrotik support antena diversity. 150mbps on one antenna.Because i can't connect with my laptop wich have a azurawave wireless lan adapter with atheros 9285. I see that atheros 9285 suport 1x1 mimo and R52N suport Draft 2.0 N 2x2 mimo. What need to do?
To buy another antenna and have 2 antenna on R52N ?

Hi,
i have RB433UAH routerboard with R52N mikrotik wireless card.
I buy a Atheros AR9280 card (AR5B9x).
Now i can connect to mikrotik wireless router in 150mbps, and after speed test it's working great.
This AR9280 it's a mimo 2x2 card so this work with R52N mikrotik 2x2 mimo card.
