DHCP client issues?

Thu Jan 17, 2013 12:18 am

Have an RB411 on 6.0 running as a simple 3g gateway.

After some hours the DHCP address will be dropped
dhcp,info dhcp-client on lte1 lost IP address 10.136.34.81 - lease stopped locally
Nothing in resources to indicate a problem
version: 6.0rc6
              free-memory: 11.1MiB
             total-memory: 32MiB
                      cpu: MIPS 24Kc V7.4
                cpu-count: 1
            cpu-frequency: 300MHz
                 cpu-load: 3%
           free-hdd-space: 30.2MiB
          total-hdd-space: 127MiB
  write-sect-since-reboot: 15076
         write-sect-total: 521753
               bad-blocks: 0%
        architecture-name: mipsbe
               board-name: RB411U
                 platform: MikroTik
If the box is rebooted every couple of hours the problem does not occur. If left to run (say overnight) the lease will be dropped as soon as there is any high flow of traffic, the connection will re-establish but then drop again after a few minutes and so on. Whilst this is happening any Winbox connections are dropped too.

Nothing else appears in logs which are remote. Not seeing the diminishing memory reported elsewhere or the random reboots.

This is a new board, never run any other version. 6.0 issue or hardware?

Still experiencing the same issue. After a long idle period when traffic start again we see:
dhcp,debug,state dhcp-client on lte1 entering <stopped> state

192.168.1.3 dhcp,info dhcp-client on lte1 lost IP address XXX.XX.XXX.XX - lease stopped locally

192.168.1.3 dhcp,debug,packet dhcp-client on lte1 sending release with id 3179107531 to 255.255.255.255

255.255.255.255 is the global IP v4 broadcast address. Nothing to do with netmasks.

Still happening - curiously it seems to occur when I open an RDP session. Surely coincidence?

With the unit like this it is not usable - is it safe / practical to revert back to the latest release of V5?

BUMP - anyone? Is it safe to revert back to version 5? As RC7 stands it is useless and the RB411 will have to be ditched...

anything new about it? I have the issue with the RB411 and a MC7710. What causes the lease stop?
