OmniTik 2Ghz and Quickset

Wed Jan 15, 2014 4:15 pm

Is it planned to have an omnitik in 2Ghz Band ? It would be a really great outdoor Access Point :D and I think it's missing in the product list...

And is it also possible to consider adding an option in the quickset on RB951Ui to have the default gateway on port 5 ? Feeding an external antenna with port5 makes the quickset useless (also on RB750UP).

Best Regards,
Julien Hoppe

Hi Normis,

No the good deal with Omnitik is the one case box, without high frequencies cables and external antennas that "always" fill up with water after some years...

Thanks for reply.

Hi,

2.4 Ghz dipole is a good way. I didn't think about using basebox without the cover.... Will give feedback after first freeze and snow....

hi mikrotik

we need omnitik upa in 2.4 band, for hotspots
( daisy chained or star topology, small to medium setup size 5 to 10 access point together in one location, example: apartments, high rise complexes)

the omnitik upa 2.4ghz will be the best, better than ubiquit unifi outdoor + 2.4 ghz with rf technology why?

because it has dual polarity 2x2 mimo antenas is great for hight interference set ups like i mentioned above.

pleas make the omnitik upa in 2.4ghz. it will over compete ubnt unifi in all means for hotspots.

now i have no choice for hight interference set ups and use ubiquit unifi outdoor + 2.4 ghz with rf technology. with its limitations (ps. i hate them)

shouldn't be as that difficult

who is in favor of it say yes!

p.s will i damage ubnt picostatio m2hp or oap+ 2.4gh or outdoorap 2.4gh if i connect to power them from mtik omnitik upa 5gh poe port?

thx

I heard that picostation use 18volts. Does the Poe port that powers the Pico will sense it out.?

Use power supply below 18 volts, if picostation have more power the picostation don't startup.

This is false, Picostations ship with 24v power supplies and work well from 12v to 30v. I have dozens of them @24v.
