Urgent advice needed!

Mon Aug 04, 2014 5:02 pm

Mikrotik router model 2011UiAS is having critical system error. System reboots because of a kernel failure. We ordered and deployed the second replacement unit but it has the same issue. What can we do? Any advice?

Can configuration exported from one unit and imported to a backup unit create the same kernel failure?

System updated to latest 6.18 on both units but the problem stil occurs. Please advise what can be done as the whole network is not available to users.

Hi!

Do you have anything connected on the USB port? I'd problem with some simple UPS
connected to the USB that caused kernel failure avery few minutes.

Thank you for trying to help!

No, i dont have anything connected to USB ports.
Is it possible the PC NIC (windows XP with virtualbox and virtual linux instance running on virtualbox) create the kernel issues?
there is freeradius instance running on virtualbox. Mikrotik is configured to send hotspot requests to IP address of the freeradius instance.

Looking at the error messages in the log its talking about an out of memory condition, have you watched the memory utilisation of the device?

Have you sent a supout.rif to mikrotik support for them to investigate?

can you post config so we can look at what might be funny (obfuscate as required)

Regards
Alexander

Hi, memory usage is minimal. I have sent supout to support. No response yet.
