Hi all,

I am currently having an issue with GRE tunnels on 6.22. I have around 20 GRE tunnels on it.

On 6.21.1, the GRE tunnels were running fine, in the interface lists, it states the GRE status is running "R", but when I upgraded to 6.22, most of my tunnels are not running, doesn't have the "R" in the status.

Well, the GRE tunnels in 6.22 are intermittent up and down, alternating between running and not running status

I read in the Wiki this note: "Note: In this example keepalive is not configured, so tunnel interface will have running flag even if remote tunnel end is not reachable", but none of my tunnels in my configuration have any keepalive configured.

Just curious if anyone has hit the same brick wall as I have and encountered the same issue.

Are you getting a "transmit loop detected" entry in your logs?

I've been getting the same thing, and I just couldn't figure out where the loop could possibly be coming from... I'll be happy if this is a bug with 6.22 instead of having to change all my tunnels around.

I was just trying 6.23rc2, and although I see that the GRE tunnels are in running (R) status. But no connections are establishing over the GRE tunnels. So I guess it's still a work in progress fix?

Also, is there a way or any options to disable the new features for the tunnel in which that the tunnel would go down in the case of no routes or transmit loop detected? Just asking because my multiple GRE tunnels were working fine in 6.21.1 and now they randomly go down.

yes, rc2 still did not have the changes.

I'm still having this issue in 6.40.9 "bugfix only". Was it resolved? which version?
