Xbox360 NATing imposible on RB750UP with V6.22

Wed Dec 03, 2014 5:55 am

Hi

I'm a total newbie with microtik. I have a RB750UP with V6.22 . I'm unable to obtain a suficent NATing for my xbox360 to fully work on xbox live . my setup is quite simple. Cable modem is in port 1, port 2 is going to a cisco 2924 switch and from there I'm going to my XBOX360. My xbox have a static IP address 192.168.1.36 my whole network is 192.168.1.x/24.

I found some other post on many sites that are giving me some command lines to add in order to make it work but I can't find WHERE to insert them nor understand how they work.

I would really appreciate an easy HOWTO step-by-step please.

thanks

I honestly don't know anything about XBox Live's NAT and port requirements (though I would think that it is already made to be able to live behind most NATs, so it would surprise me if you really needed to go out of your way to do something special to accommodate it), but you might get more responses to your question if you posted it in the right forum. This particular forum is about testing development and beta versions of RouterOS, and discussing future features. Try the General forum, or because you are new to the platform, maybe Beginner Basics.

I'm very eager to know if it works, but I still don't know for sure that it does because I don't have an Hx2 or AHx2 at my disposal to run tests on (plenty in production, but none that I can take offline right now to just play with). Thus, I still need someone to test my procedure for me. If you e-mail me at the address I provide in the aforementioned post, I can hook you up.

ConnieKeefe,

Is there a reason you are quoting old posts of mine in otherwise unrelated threads?

But doesn't the xbox360 support upnp ??
Just configure upnp to open up the 'natted' network.

Yes, Turn on UPNP and wave strict nat warnings bye bye.

Note. UPNP will not help if you are double nated and upstream router is not open.

did tried that without success. however, a recent xbox360 update seems to have fix the issue.

thanks to all
