It would be fine if the hardware watchdog could check more than one ip adresses, only rebooting if all of them failed.

If the checked device is down, the checking device is rebooting even if it doesnt have a problem itself via watchdog. checking more than one device would solve that.

also, customizing timeouts would be nice: I don't like that all routers reboot when I reboot central switch (it came up in ~1,5 minute, that's too much for watchdog )

It's possible to do with script. So maybe it's unnessesary?

Do you believe that watchdog configuration in ros controls hardware watchdog cirquits? I doubt this.
