Winbox, Tablet, Windows 8

Wed Mar 18, 2015 6:24 pm

I purchaced a Nextbook Tablet and added an external mini-usb to ethernet adapater.

I've used both the older winbox and the latest version and when I connect and login to most of my routerboard units most of the functions are disabled. I can see things like router version, and packages, but I can not see any wireless interfaces or dropo down into terminal. I have disabled the firewal on the tablet.

I've tested using
133c does not work.
433 works fine.
911 does not work
912 does not work

I can switch back to my Windows 7 netbook and log into them all just fine.

Thoughts?

I have Windows 8.1 on my PC, and it works fine... at least when connecting to an x86 PC and a RB951Ui-2HnD, which are the only two RouterOS devices I have currently.

Maybe if you have a pre-installed Anti-Virus software that is blocking parts of Winbox? Not just a firewall I mean.

I discovered a few days later that the issue was the ethernet adapater was using a generic windows driver, once I loaded a new driver from the vendor's website it all worked fine.
