RoMON question

Mon Jun 08, 2015 7:12 pm

Hello to all
Little help
I read this in new newslatter on MT site in RoMON section.

"You can not only discover these devices, you can also ping them,
SSH to them, and connect to them with Winbox - without the
need for tunnels, NAT or special routing rules"

I don't understand how I can using RoMON connect to ether MT device over Winbox ?

For example :
I have one MT Router (RB951 with NAT and Masqueade) and two mini AP connected on ti.
How I can access to mini APs over WAN (internet) with Winbox, if I don't do port forwarding on each AP IP address on RG951 ?

I know I can access to then using Telnet or SSH FROM RG951, but I want to know how from Winbox to access to miniAP using just Romon how is writen on newsletter.

P.S. All MT devices are 6.29.1 firmware

Thanks

Dear nemke,
regarding romon,
you must use winbox 3 version, use latest one.
you must enable romon on devices in your lan.

in winbox type connect information and then click connect to romon, after that you will see RoMON Agent filled in as you connect to it.

At this moment this agent making your request to devices in network, otherwise you get error that RoMON is not enabled, then you will see RoMON Neighbors with all info about and you can make proxy connection.
