[Feature Request] Winbox 64 bit

Fri Jul 17, 2015 5:55 pm

I would like to see winbox finally done as pure 64 bit application. One of my main servers I use is Centos 7 and only is 64 bit meaning wine runs only pure 64 bit there are no 32 bit libraries.

Even using OS 64-bit, winbox runs like a charm in Wine 64-bit.

Here I use Arch Linux 64-bit and latest version of Wine and runs with no problems.
To run better some applications, I configure the Wine to be a environment 32-bit.
$ WINEARCH=win32 winecfg

$ pacman -Qs wine
local/wine 2.7-1

charm ??? Try to use a second monitor and you will see on that monitor not working keyboard.

charm ??? Long line in terminal and go to left with cursor and you will see the "charm"

I use WinBox in linux about 4 year and in 4 year I hope to compile winbox for linux....but nothing

Well, I agree that isn't perfect, but works anyway...
How you can see I did not have problems with typing.
Main monitor is 1920x1080 and the secondary is 1280x800.

EDIT: I found this package in the official repo from Arch Linux, supposedly is better because has some packages to be less bugged.

Well, I started with Mikrotik one year ago. I had problems with winbox v3.9 ( viewtopic.php?f=21&t=117286#p579731 ), started from v3.10 no problems so far.

What we can try to do is to ask them to compile a version with static libs to run on Linux.

I use same version from AUR packages with Manjaro Linux with I3 desktop environment. On my laptop with dual graphics wine not working on extended external monitor.
I see on MacOS works fine. Why don't make a version for linux ? That the question....

My laptop is dual graphics too, but I have disabled the nv card and left with nouveau module. I only use intel graphics in linux, this laptop is too much bugged when is tried to ran nv and linux...
For the DE and WM, I use the default from XFCE4.

They can (I guess), the ROS is linux kernel patched even.
This is the old story about which major OS are used...

Also I agree 100% with you that winbox need a linux version.
