I have bought 2 1036 boxes,

Box 1 is used for peering, 3 days back when box was remote rebooted it did not start again, It kept on rebooting. after lots of efforts I reinstalled RouterOS 6.4.
Telnet and SSH works fine but as soon as I try connecting thru Winbox ( different versions)router hangs and have to reboot it.

Box 2. Was bought as stand by, when Box 1 stopped we tried to install box 2, It boots but no interface is working, display shows every thing ok, Tried to reset and reinstall but ether boot fails to register with netinstall.
Advise solution for both the cases.

Version 6.4? Its not released even in beta. Current is 6.30.1

Can you double check the firmware you've loaded?

If its loop rebooting have to looked over terminal serial connection to the CCR and watched it boot?

Also new CCR should be on 192.168.88.1 /24 only reachable on ether1. It should also warn you of no admin password is set on the front panel, and show how its IP and only on ether1

for serial what type of cable is to be used? laptop does not have a serial port.

6.4 is a very old version and should really only be used for specific configurations from back then where there is a specific reason to keep such an old version.

We are now up to 6.30.1 and 6.31 in pre release and there have been many major performance improvements and other changes in the code that makes the current version a much better system to run.

Please install 6.30.1 from the mikrotik download page and install it on the CCR1036's. Then please do a reset configuration (either with the defaults or no defaults) then configure your settings.

You should expect to see a great performing system there and please let us know if you need any further help.
