Existing problems in User Manager or just RouterOS for the v5 release? Perhaps some of my feature requests are already supported somehow. We had a change of staff, so User Manager development has slowed down. We are currently mostly working on fixing existing problems.

Thanks for the update. Any updates to the change log?sorry, v4.13 added
use v5 to get the latest packages included in each upgrade
+1Would it make more sense to move UM to a subscription paid model? Its a decent bit of software users are asking for to be fixed and it's a hard business case to sink dev time into something you give away for free.
I'm sure users that use it would pay for it if it meant some more time could be spent on it
UM has potential. I'd pay license for the package if it were supported.+1Would it make more sense to move UM to a subscription paid model? Its a decent bit of software users are asking for to be fixed and it's a hard business case to sink dev time into something you give away for free.

you need to configure everything first. until configuration is complete, user page will redirect. not a bug.Reporting ....
x86 v5RC_12 internal release of 16th March + user manager of 16th -> http://router/user points to same as http://router/userman
Isn't the /user/ one supposed to be for the users? So they would be able to see their uptime and usage?
Thank you.
Anybody have any ideas on how to change this 'no profile found' message when the users credit has expired when the hostpot is connected to UM.?
I've checked the errors.txt file on the hotspot itself, but can't see any reference to it.
Thanks,
Barry.
# no profile found
# Erroneous error, it really means that the client's credit has expired
no-profile-found = Your credit has expired. Please add more credit to your account before attempting again.
Thanks now UM works fine i will report bugs if i found ny , I have a lil request
which tables are not updated? do you use a recent web browser like FF4 or Chrome? Thanks now UM works fine i will report bugs if i found ny , I have a lil request
Which version do you use? Is it stable?
In v.5.0 I miss that I can't do all things in webinterface, like profiles. And you often have to logout in webinterface because tables are not updated when you change something.
I use Firefox 4. Win7.which tables are not updated? do you use a recent web browser like FF4 or Chrome?
Same at me.Just the updates to the screen when working on the web site are buggy, can you add a "refresh button" please, so after you have changed the profile of a user on the user page, the page updates. Currently I have to re-sort the list to get the new profile displayed.
Same at me. After relogin names are ok.Also, when adding / changing profiles in the profile section , the refreshing also isnt great, if I scroll between the profiles, sometimes the name I assigned , gets assigned to all the profiles,
Same at me. After relogin names are ok.and even worse, sometimes the actual profile name, if I add a new profile, then choose an old profile in the drop down list, gets given the same name as the new profile, so the names all get messed up - very weird behavior.
Yes that really sucks. One main reason I can't use it!Otherwise, the upgrade from v4 to v5 worked easily enough, except I had 100 users, so I had to manually assign the profile to each user since you cant do it via cli and there is no way in the gui to select many users, and set their profile at same time, you can choose a lot of users, and remove but not make a global profile change.
I use Win7/ FF4. There is no script error at me.O ya, just remembered, when I select a bunch of users, then choose disable - I get some strange script error pop up window.
As far as I can tell, yes. There is also no access via CLI or API so you can't script or program to bulk-fix it.Do I have to create the profiles and add them manually to each user?
I tested it for two months before going live and didn't have a problem. Once it went live UM fell apart and I had all the problems the guy is having above.Which version do you use? Latest is the one that comes with RouterOS v5.4. Could you try that one please?
And please next time when you deploy something - test first in a development/testing environment.
If you don't understand this - pay a "contractor" to test and deploy it for you.
it's possible but with 802.11N it works betterCan I use 4.6 or newer userman with 4.5 mikrotik? I found that 4.5 version is most stable with 802.11N, and I won't change it...
