Hotspots no static IP

Tue Dec 13, 2011 10:12 pm

We are going to deploy some mikrotik hotspots, is there a way to use the user manager for authentication when many of these hotspots do not have a static IP?

Thanks

I haven't tested, but what if you make a "loopback" bridge with no interfaces connected to and add a static privat ip address to it just to have somthing to connect to when using the usermanager / radius.? Everything else could be dynamic...

I may try that, ultimately I would like to use my RB1100 as a vpn server also so I could vpn into it and have a virtual network that can reach all the deployed Mikrotik equipment.
