RouterOS in WMware.

Fri Feb 24, 2017 12:35 am

Hi all.
I was thinking of learning routerOS by setting it up in wmware on my computer.
I got it running, I can connect to it by using it's mac address.
I used arp-a and angry ip scanner to get all the used ip addresses.
When setting it up with 192.168.33/24 in winbox and trying to connect to it using its ip address it does not work.

I would like to set it up as a firewall/router for my computer to emulate a hardware router.
any suggestions?

I searched the net and found a solution.
When using Network connection Host-only and then sharing the network with wmware ethernet connection in windows I don't have a problem with my firewall blocking winbox.
I got it from this youtube video.
