We are running a configuration in one mikrotik
but we have an older backup in the file
we want to read that backup file in a text file so we can compare the two configuration without loading the older backup
Can we do that??
or there is a way to this?
ThankĀ“s in advanced

Hi frens

yes you can export and it stay in the file menu, than use dragNdrop from your winbox or download/upload by ftp program application with your local machine...or make backup and schedule by script than send it to your own email address.

I tried this sometimes ago but have no head way! Let us know if it work.

What i ended up doing was to load it on a less busy router board, got what i want and then restore the original config back to the board and was even faster and easier. Another way is if you dont have an idle board/OS, is to run the demo license on a hdd or bootable flash and restore it on that, get ur desired info and wipe.

MTBackup does indeed save pure text config (which is very handy)
