Differentiate Users

Tue Mar 01, 2011 4:51 pm

Hello,
I have got around 20 Users connected to my mikrotik RB411. I want to make few user priviledge levels and define them to my users according. To make it more clear, this is what i want:

1. When user turn on his PC, it is going to ask them for ID and password.
2. Depending upon the ID and password, data sent from the user is going to go through specific gateway.(Will be nat on different public IP.

I do not want to define static IPs for every customer, also i do not want to specify mac address incase if someone changes LAN card, i will have to make changes accordingly.

All the users are connected to same ethernet interface.

Any idea of how to do that??? How to make ID and password work???

Install a Hotspot and make user accounts for people. Each user account gets a unique user profile. Fill out the address-list property. Now whenever that user account logs in - regardless of IP or MAC address - that client address will be placed dynamically on an address list of that name, and be removed again on log out. Then you can make routing and NAT decisions based on address list membership.
