Hi I would like to know is there any alternative for udpxy in RouterOS (or will udpxy support be added)

as I am now running OpenWRT MetaRouter just for udpxy and it is a wate of resources as CPU goes up to 100% when I start to play a stream on my pc (it can only convert SD Channels from multicast to unicast (HD Channels just freeze))

I am running this on RB2011UiAS-2HnD-IN so is there a better way of converting from multiacst to unicast so you can send multicast stream over wifi or VPN?

Thanks for Anwsering and Best Regards

Hi!

Any updates on this issue ? Do you plan to make UDPXY ?

Watching multicast IPTV is awful !

Thanks

+1 for updxy or something similar.

Ordered mikrotik router, found out that it doesn't support udpxy, cancelled order. Waiting for support.

this would resolve some issues with Multicast for STBs compatible with udpxy

I'm bringing this thread to life as I'm also wondering if there's any kind of solution to this matter available? I'd be also more than happy to have an option to convert multicast to unicast directly with mikrotik router.

I guess udpxy isn't and won't be available. Do we have some kind of alternative?

Not that I'm aware of, hopefully we will get udpxy eventually...

Please, please, please, a udpxy module to augment the multicast module?? Multicast TV is effectively useless over WiFi links because WiFi shifts to its slowest (and most noise-immune) speed for broadcast-like packets. Besides that, experience indicates that Windows 10 can be fragile in the multicast area. And LAN switches (including my TP-Link SG-3424's) don't always do IGMP snooping correctly, especially for edge cases.

Yes, it's possible to put a wired Linux box on the LAN and do upd multicast - to - http unicast proxying there, but it seems exactly the sort of thing a router could do well and inexpensively. If MikrotTik would implement udpxy, IPTV ISP's (like mine, init7.net) might start preferring MikroTik routers for their clients, don't you think?

We will probaby never see that alive. Maybe with the new Container function, when it starts to work, that would be possible.

Why not use the IGMP-Proxy ?

I'm already using it. But still it would be easier in some cases, to just convert Multicast to Unicast, to send it over WiFi or over internet.

You should never run Multicast UDP/RTP based IPTV över WiFi.

I know that. I would change it to Unicast before with UDPXY.
