RIP default route not always redistributed

Mon Mar 23, 2009 12:28 pm

Hello, yesterday I passed from all satic routes to RIP on the majority of my WIFI network.
I started from the main internet gateway, let me simply depict the scenario:

RB1(rb433)- wlan1 --- wlan1-RB2(rb333)-eth1-switch-eth1-rb3(rb333)-wlan1-wlan1-rb4(rb333)----
|
|
internet

The setup of RIP is the same for the three rb's ( running ROS 3.22 ), and is:

distribute-default: always
redistribute-static: yes
redistribute-connected: yes
redistribute-ospf: no
redistribute-bgp: no
metric-default: 1
metric-static: 1
metric-connected: 1
metric-ospf: 1
metric-bgp: 1
update-timer: 30s
timeout-timer: 3m
garbage-timer: 2m

rb2 correctly receives default route from rb1 while rb3 and rb4 not; on rb3 and rb4 I have to manually put the static default route. Thinking of a broadcast problem, I setup also the NEIGHBOURS on rb2 without success. Please can someone can help me?
Regards
Alessandro

Try to have "Distribute Default ": always on the 1st router connected to internet turned on and disable on the other once "Never"

see what happens.
