when will the missing MPLS features like FastReroute be impletemented in ROS? I wonder why every thing will be started but not finished? I think a fully featured MPLS on MT with an RB1100 is a Cisco-Killer ...

Agreed. MPLS IPv6 support and BGP for label distribution would be nice.

Are there any other ways to directly fund development of these features outside of simply purchasing more RouterBoards and requesting a feature be included?

There is also still a severe bug present in the MPLS VRF implementation, that completely cripples the implementation (support ID 2010051766000639). That bug has a 6 month anniversary today.
