IGMP Querier invalid source ip

Thu Mar 31, 2011 12:47 pm

IGMPv2 Membership query packets are sent with invalid source ip address. I think, this is not fatal, because reply to this query are sent to multicast address, not query source address.

There is only IGMP proxy configuration:
/routing igmp-proxy interface> print status
Flags: X - disabled, I - inactive, D - dynamic, U - upstream
 0 U interface=up threshold=1 upstream=yes source-ip-address=192.168.1.9
      rx-bytes=1197077796 rx-packets=890982 tx-bytes=0 tx-packets=0

 1 interface=down threshold=1 upstream=no querier=yes
      source-ip-address=192.168.0.9 rx-bytes=0 rx-packets=0 tx-bytes=7235184
      tx-packets=5414
IGMPv2 Query is sent as reaction to IGMPv2 Leave packet. In this example Query has source ip 9.0.168.192 and not real address 192.168.0.9 (captured by Wireshark 1.4.3).

Tested on 4.17 and 5.0rc11 on RB532A.
