Bridge firewall confusion

Mon Jun 06, 2011 3:47 pm

Hello all,

I am using RouterOS 5.4.

Using 'use ip firewall' setting on the bridge, which firewall rules should apply: the general firewall rules (ip->firewall) or the bridge specific one's (bridge->filter)?

thanks.

What kind of traffic do you want to filter? Take a look at packet flow diagrams, it demonstrates the use of use-ip-firewall: http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Packet_Flow. Bridge filter is part of "Bridge Forward" box.

After upgrading from version 4 to 5.4 bridge filter rules doesn't work anymore.
I add rule with no conditions (means all packets match) in forward, input or output and no packets matches (counter do not increase). I want to filter traffic betwen physical ports and don't want to use "firewall bridge packets".
