pppoe over eoip causes packet loss

Tue Nov 22, 2011 4:10 pm

Hi all.
I have a pppoe subscriber with eoip tunnels to my access points.
If I ping the subscriber outside the eoip tunnel: packet loss=0%, low jitter
If I ping the subscriber outside the pppoe connection inside eoip tunnel: packet loss=4%, more jitter
No one of the router crossed have cpu or ram problems.
Could someone have some hints ?
Thanks

Are you pinging the same interface of the same device in two different modes (in tunnel and out)? If you're pinging two different interfaces...potentially on two different devices than you're running two tests and the results may not be comparable. IE, perhaps the second device with packet loss is just busy or deprioritizing ICMP to a degree that you see it in your results.

Need some more data.
