Time-based gateway switching

Fri Apr 20, 2012 10:28 pm

Hi, this seems like a rather stupid question, but I'm stumped

I have two PPP gateways (ADSL) which are connected at the same time.
1. 4 mbps account (always 4mbps)
2. 10 mbps account (192kbps during the day, 10mbps after 7pm)

Both are connected on a 10 mbps ADSL line. Basically what I need is to have the 4mbps account active during the day (7am-7pm weekdays) and the limited 10mbps account active during the night and weekends. So basically just switching the active gateway for all traffic passing through the device.

I've tried mangling the packets based on the 'time' constraint but the result is never what I want. I have a Routerboard 751G with license L4.

Is this possible?
Thanks

Just make a couple of scripts that enables/disables things (and changes whatever settings) at scheduled times each day.

it pretty straight forward...
just create a scheduler and put it to enable/ disable the gateway as you like...

then, it's done.
