BGP Advertisement Issue

Thu May 10, 2012 6:27 pm

I have Level 4 Mikrotik Licence. I had a problem in BGP. I learn Prefixes from my customer & advertise to upstream Provider, its not advertise. I can learn prefixes from my customer but my Upstream provider can't learn the prefixes which i advertised through bgp filtering.

BGP Peering is properly established with both provider & customer.

Please Assist me what can i do.http://forum.mikrotik.com/posting.php?mode=post&f=14#

Look into Route reflector option.
it will pass the learned routes to the next router.

No, this is not needed. Route reflectors are only used to 'reflect' routes to other routers in the same AS. You would never enable route reflector functionality with an upstream peer.

swapwnet, could you please post your BGP config? This should be fairly straightforward.

what about a "default" route to your upstream provider, and internal confederation and ibgp.

most likely your provider is filtering them out. probably because they are not expecting you to be passing additional AS paths and/or prefixes.
