Mangle - Detect Static/Connected Routes

Thu Sep 05, 2013 8:36 am

Hi Forum,

I have posted this before over in General but got absolutely no response.

I use Mangle rules to influence routing for NAT address' on a router that shares with public address networks.

Basically our internal office LAN uses 192.168.1.0/24 where as we have a large, different range of public networks on the same router.

To keep traffic local we mark the routing and use advanced 'dst address list' and have an IP Address List defining locally available routes (connected and static mostly).

This can be a pain to manage, and may make a good feature request if it is not possible, for a mangle rule to have an address list to be just 'local routes' or other terminology.

Thanks,
Joe

The more I use RouterOS the more I see how more automation would be nice. They are working on a new engine (coming with the v7 branch) that is probably being created to address issues like this. Most things are possible now, just not as intuitive as they could be.
