Hello
I'm making a DHCP relay server and I think that most of it is okay because it sends the correct packets and listens for the correct packets. But I don't get a response from my DHCP server to my DHCP Relay.
When I setup the DHCP Relay from the RT750 itself, it works like a charm. Is their some way to analyse all packets passing or entering my router on all the interfaces?
Configuration:
RT750:
Setup with 2 adresses: 192.168.97.1 on physical port 2 and 192.168.100.1 on port 3.
The DHCP server is connected with port 3 and has IP 192.168.100.254.
The clients and the DHCP Relay are connected to port 2 with an extra switch.
I can ping from a client/relay to the DHCP Server
I can also ping from the server to the client/relay.
But when I wireshark on the switch that is connected with port 2 I only see the DHCP discover messages and my servers receives them. But when the DHCP server answers with a DHCP offer packet. it isn't traces by wireshark on the network of the relay and the relay doesn't receive anything.
What cant he problem be in this case?
I already thought of port forwarding the packets that go to port 68 and come from the server interface on the router, to the dhcp relay. But their must be something wrong in that config because it also doesn't do anything.
Kind regards
