Hi Mikrotikers !

I've been using the product for a long time but have only today ventured into the Metarouter menu

I've setup OpenWRT using the "default" image from http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:Metarouter.

How do I install additional packages ?
I cannot find ipkg ??

thanks for the prompt reply, I'm guessing the question that I'm asking is that whoever complied the image for OpenWRT downloadable from your website perhaps intentionally left out this feature ? if so? are the implications for the router ?

no, basically you can put any OS on there. That image is there only for convenience sake.

So what format do these images need to be ?
Is it simply a matter of something like dd if=/ of=my.img and uploading ?
is there a specification that these images must meet to operate in Metarouter

so what about this section of the mentioned manual ?
