this would be more like, will vmware support routeros :P (but, would mikrotik let'em?)

wmware tools, is software from 3 party (vmware) to install at guest os (routeros). Today. Mikrotik does not support installing software from annyone. ( a nice 7x feature?) :D

tools does not give any performance advantage. Also, moving mouse in/out of cli seamlessly does not make much sense. Also we are not keen to add something that we have no control of to the OS just to drive complexity without much gain.

It's not about the integration features, rather only the networking drivers as pointed out.

thre is some benefits, by allowing this, but, like always, also a lot of negative things. I think the wight will fell donw, on most negative things, by allowing 3 party software to routeros. Drivers could easy be implemented annyway.

Memory ballooning
Shared folders
Drag and Drop, Text and File Copy/Paste
Clipboard sharing
Disk wiping and shrinking
Time synchronization
Automatic guest screen resolution resizing
GuestInfo (provides statistics about guest environment)
Guest SDK (provides information about the VM)
Soft power operations
Multiple monitor support
GTK Toolbox UI
