User metarouter to build an iscsi target

Fri Jan 04, 2013 3:40 pm

Hello,
I need to to a "strange" test and so I need to have an iscsi target for an usb drive connected to a mikrotik device.

I have:

- RB2011UAS-2HnD-IN
- RB751U-2HnD

So the question is: is there an image (openwrt, debian, whatelse) that can run on these routers with metarouter that has a iscsi-target package/support?
Or: where I find a list of metarouter images that can run on the devices above?
Thanks,
Mario

Currently metarouter support is very limited regarding virtual machines and using USB disk.
Unfortunately I suppose, your current setup is not possible.

Currently metarouter support is very limited regarding virtual machines and using USB disk.
Unfortunately I suppose, your current setup is not possible.
Since I do not need performance I can simply export via iscsi a single file in the virtual router image without using real usb for now.

The thing that stops me now is that I have downloaded the suggested openwrt image from mikrotik site and it is very old. "opkg update" does not work anymore.

Can you suggest me where I can find a recent (e.g. backfire version) openwrt?

Thanks for your help!!

I think I will stop immediately using metarouter because before my mikrotik was rock stable and now:

- it hanged two times;
- adding a vif as suggested in tutorial made the accesspoint/wds function not work anymore
