Problem with Creating a Trunk between Cisco 2960 and mikrotik rb260gsp

Thu Sep 15, 2016 12:41 pm

Hi
Could anybody help me with this problem...
I have a Cisco 2960 switch. I have 2 vlan on my network, vlan 1 and 2. The fastethernet 0/24 on cisco configured as a trunk port and connect to port number 2 on rb260gsp. I can access my computers on vlan 1 on rb260 but I could not access any of my clients on vlan 2 on rb260. When I ping any of the clients , I get the Destination Host on reachable message. I think the packets, which have the vlan 2 tag ID from the cisco switch do not pass to rb260gsp or dropped!!! I think my configuration on both cisco and mikrotik is ok, but if anyone have a comment, it may be useful.

Silly question, but do you have a router with interfaces in both vlans?
By their nature, two vlans can't talk to each other unless there's a router connected to both of them.

Check this for simple VLAN traffic passthrough:
On the VLAN tab, did you set the involved ports with Ingress VLAN set to 'optional', VLAN receive to 'any', default VLAN 1 and Egress VLAN Header 'leave as is' ?
Have you added VLAN 2 in the VLANs tab, with 'leave as is' on all the involved ports?

And again a silly question:
Are your clients configured to use tagged VLAN2 traffic or do you need the switch to untag that traffic?
