Missing Documentation

Sun May 11, 2008 8:23 pm

Hi All

I've just upgraded from 2.9 to 3.9, and I'm now having a problem with some of my scripts. Why is there no mention of scripts in the 3.0 manual?

Thanks for the tip, but I can't believe that Mikrotik haven't done the manual properly, Ifind it easier to read a manual than read loads and loads of posts on the forum.

Mikrotik, please, please update your documentation

Here here!

MT's documentation, or rather the lack of it, is a huge downside to an excellent product.

The only 'documentation' relating to v3. seems to be the Wiki for which MT absolves itself of all responsibility: "Note that MikroTik is not responsible for the information placed here, neither for its accuracy nor for its availability."

Relying on this and/or their own customers to provide support to others through a forum might be acceptable for Open Source software but is not good enough in a commercial environment where considerable capital, income and even livelihoods are dependent on the correct and efficient working of the product being purchased.

Again your complaints, Sunday ...

Documentation is under development. When it's done, we will publish it. We ran into some problems with the Documentation engine, so it's taking longer than estimated.

So it the engine still broken 7 months later??????

I've been looking at the manual for v3, in relation to Simple Queues, and it doesn't appear to have been updated, in fact it's identical to 2.9. It's frustrating to say the least.

RouterOS is an excellent product, that it let down by diablolical out of date documentation. See below!!!

Document revision: 3.92 (February 11, 2008, 4:14 GMT)
Applies to: MikroTik RouterOS V3.0

Mikrotik pull your socks up and please, please update the docunmention for v3.
