Disk nearly full with no files

Wed Dec 10, 2008 11:38 pm

I'm using 3.17 currently (upgraded a short while ago from 3.15) and running the Dude v3.0rc3

I want to upgrade to Dude v3 but I want a backup of the configuration before upgrading.

If I try to do a backup I run out of space before the config is compiled and allows me to download it. Currently the files window is blank and reads 93.8MB of 123.9MB used (24% free). What is using 90MB of storage?! The stores are completely empty.

Can anyone tell me how to free up that space? Is the Dude operating in that 90megs? How can I get the configuration from Dude if there will never be enough space on this disk?

most likely Dude is using the biggest part of disk size. create the export file from Dude client to save the configuration.
Reinstall the Dude package and upgrade to the latest version, import backup.

I can't do an export, that's the entire reason for my post =(

you could try to remove all the lesser important packages, just to make that backup, and then put the packages back. and if that's an X86 machine - install a bigger disk.

We are working on secondary disk support for Dude database, that should help later against this kind of problem

It is x86 - however it is installed on an IDE DOM (this way I don't go through hell of getting a license moved from one hard disk to another). If installing a second disk could solve my issue, I would appreciate it.

Here is what I have:

[jluthman@dudeserver] > sys package pr
Flags: X - disabled
# NAME VERSION SCHEDULED
0 dude 3.0rc3
1 system 3.17
2 routeros-x86 3.17
3 security 3.17
4 advanced-tools 3.17

This leaves me with 86.8MB of 123.9 MB used, 29% free

Note that 37MB of free space was filled before an export could complete.

you will have to leave it as it is, until we add Dude support for Store. Then you will be able to add a secondary drive, and move Dude to that.

I am running Dude on a mikrotik router board and like you, could not export the settings.

I rebooted the mikrotik router and then the Dude export worked.

Any idea when I can expect this? I hate not being able to backup my Dude config at all.

/store support for Dude was added. However you need to upgrade the router to the latest version to get the store support. You may try to reinstall unused package, perhaps you will be able to get Dude backup and upgrade the router.
If not, then you should install 3.22 and create Dude configuration from the beginning.
