How to save web-proxy logs (its urgent)

Mon May 18, 2009 3:06 am

HI,

I would like to know is there any possible way to save web-proxy logs. Right now i have made a log rule to save all logs to disk and i have increased the number of lines to maximum.
Please if any one says about "PROXYLIZER", i tried that and its not working for me, follow the link to see http://forum.mikrotik.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=31832

I need the logs because in Pakistan, it is a rule by the regulatory authority to have proxy logs for each ip for a minimum of 3 months.

Please help me out, i need to save the logs. :(

Right now when ever i open the "log" window, winbox gets stuck, because of the quantity of web-proxy logs.

Is there no way to save the Web-Proxy logs in a file.

Please help me out, its really urgent. :(

You need to use a syslog server, such as Dude or Kiwi etc.

Remember, Mikrotik is not a fully fledged proxy server with all the bells and whistles, it's a router.

you can also log to file, but be careful with that (storing logs to flash disk can eventually kill it, if you have lots of logs, and do this for a longer period): http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Log

better use some Syslog program (like Kiwi syslog).

which topic? about using Kiwi syslog? it's dead simple. Run Kiwi Syslog, and set RouterOS to send logs to this IP. That's all.

This is what I was looking for. I have my PC connected to ether2 who is a DHCP Server to surf internet. I want to create a Log to see who is and where is surfing internet on my Hotspot on ether3 on my RB450G, here is the example:

ADSL --> ether1 ether2 --> my PC with internet ether3 --> hotspot for clients

I have installed kiwi syslog but I don't know how to set up proxy on Winbox. port 514 is open for the RB450G IP 192.168.2.121

Thanks.
