Help, my ISP cut my adsl because I have a ethernet.

Sat Dec 26, 2009 4:03 pm

Our ISP has been rejected multi-hosts to share an adsl for so many years, and they try to detect the hosts behind the modem by all means. I have two questions here:
1. Does the packets which leaved the router still contain the information of the host like MAC or ethernet IP address etc?
2. Is there a way that can thoroughly solve multi-hosts share an adsl? or where I can refer the resources of it?

Some detect extra hop by monitoring TTL (or setting it to 1 to begin with). You'll find more info if you search this forum.

Can you use a different service tier or switch ISPs?

All ISP in china would block ethernet sharing ADSL, they expended a lot money on this field research.
