Bandwidth Controlling

Wed Dec 30, 2009 2:17 am

Hello,

Its my first time here and i wanted to do a question before i buy my first Mikrotik Product.

I have 15 users actually sharing my internet connection throgh wireless using a Senao ECB-3500 radio (i have to say its a pretty good radio w/ 600mw).

But its routing capabilities are poor, and i can't have much control of what i want to do.

So, i've been thinking rb750g wich seems to have good routing capabilities and runs Level 4 Router OS.

Question is, in the following setup :

Wireless Client -> Senao (Radio) -> Rb750g <--- can i in that side, limit the wireless client bandwidth speed via MAC Address ?

If so, how ?

Thanks,

Fred

Doing this by mac would be painful. Setting this up by IP would be quite easy. Unless you have a VERY strong compelling reason to use MAC based speed limits, I'd suggest using IP as the classifier.
