When the web proxy makes a request it adds the 'Forwarded For' header which is good.
X-Forwarded-For: 192.168.1.123
Via: 1.1 192.168.1.1 (Mikrotik HttpProxy)
But I have a Mikrotik gateway transparent proxy cache with the purpose of saving bandwidth and improving speeds. If a user already has say this in a request from there border router or hotspot.
X-Forwarded-For: 192.168.1.123
The Mikrotik gateway proxy leaves this header in place and any website on the end of the request has no idea who the real IP is.
I would like an option in the web proxy to ignore the existing X-Forwarded-For and always add a new one with the public IP.
Reason I want this is in the case of abuse and other issues. If I receive a note from a webmaster, FBI or something and all they have is the IP of my proxy and some 192 IP there is no way I can track down who it is.
