RB1000 sporadically dropping all OpenVPN connections

Thu Jan 21, 2010 10:49 pm

I have an RB1000 with (currently) 44 OpenVPN tunnels from Mikrotik endpoints. Every couple days and so-far twice today, it will drop all OpenVPN connections and nothing can reconnect until you reboot the RB1000. I tried disabling/re-enabling the OpenVPN server on the 1000 to no avail. The only thing that fixes it is rebooting. It automaticaly generates a supout when the problem occurs and I have forwarded it to MT support but havent heard back yet.

RB1000 on 4.5, clients are all on 4.5 now.

Anyone else? I have 50 more routers in the office to go out to customers and will have over 100 tunnels in the next month or so. I need to figure this out...

Has happened 4-5 times now. Up to 69 concurrent OpenVPN connections, all 4.5 Mikrotik clients w/ 2 3.2x clients. OpenVPN just stops accepting connections. Nothing is being dropped in the firewall, the firewall still functions and passes traffic to the servers behind the RB1000. The only thing I can do is reboot the router to get clients to connect again.
