r52n question

Sun Jan 24, 2010 9:43 pm

Hi !

I need to change radio cards in several systems.
Actually I have r52 on all of them running 801.11a in 5Ghz Band with I antenna connector.
I would like to know if I can swap them with R52N and still use just 802.11a.
I would like to do this because in future if I will decide to swap to N all the routerboards
and radio will be ready for it. (I imagine that i will need to use dual polarized antenna and 2 connectors).

In case this is possible what connector I should use (j2 or J3)?

j2 is antenna A or B?

Is this possible also with R52Hn with R52H ?

Regards

Tom

Yes, it is possible to change RB52N to RB52.
RB52N supports bands
supported-bands=2ghz-b,5ghz,2ghz-g,5ghz-10mhz,5ghz-5mhz,2ghz-10mhz,2ghz-5mhz,5ghz-11n,2ghz-11n.
So you will be able to use RB52N for A or even A+N,
/interface wireless> set wlan1 band=5ghz-
5ghz-10mhz 5ghz-5mhz 5ghz-a/n 5ghz-onlyn 5ghz-turbo
J2 is main connector or 0 chain, J3 is 1 chain.
