Simple VLAN switch setup, can`t make it work

Mon Mar 15, 2010 2:11 pm

I`m setting up a RB493AH as a switch, witch I will be using for filtering traffic (bridge filter).

What I want to do is set up all ports as trunks (by adding all ports to the same bridge, the RB seems to do this).
Then I want the RB to have an IP address on one VLAN for management, VLAN 100.
Can`t find a good way to get this working, any good ideas?

Why are all of your ports trunk ports? If you want all devices to be able to talk to each other, there is no reason to do VLANs.

If you need a management address, just create VLAN100 on your uplink port and add the address to it.
