looking for someone which can confirm my observation or give me a hint.
Quite simple setup:
Router 1:
RB450G
l2tp-server
MRU/MTU = 1452
MRRU = 1524
ROS: 4.17

Router 2:
RB750G
l2tp-client
MRU/MTU = 1452
MRRU = 1524
ROS: 5.0

As long as MRRU is active, the connection won't come up, just sitting ther dialing and getting terminated.
Disabling MRRU helps getting the connection up.

Then I threw in Router 3 with an exact same configuration as Router 2:
RB450G
l2tp-client
MRU/MTU = 1452
MRRU = 1524
ROS: 4.17

And voila, it works.

So can anyone confirm that L2TP with MLPPP won't work with an 4.17 server and a 5.0 client?

I can't do much more tests, as Router 1 has been moved into a colocation since my tests.
I might try setting up the RB750G again when time allows.
Maybe someone else has also found this issue, or I'm doing something wrong, but the setup is really super simple so I don't have any clue.

Is MLPPP between different ROS Versions supposed to work? Maybe this is the expected behaviour.

Tested v5.2 vs v4.17 when mrru is enabled, works without problems.

Confirmed, 4.17 server and 5.2 client works.
