RB411AH firmware upgrade gone wrong.

Thu Jun 16, 2011 9:31 am

Hi,

I have searched around but time is against me so I thought I'd ask for some help.
I tried upgrading the firmware on a 411AH running 5.0 Beta 1, after this it is stuck with "kernel loading failed" in the serial console.

Now I read that netinstall could be the key to solve my problem, however after running the boot order on the Rb411AH setting it to Ethernet, starting Netinstall with net booting.
The router gets the IP from my laptop thats directly connected to it but in the netinstall where the guide says it should now show up as a unit that I can select I only get my secondary harddrive.

The laptop is running Win7 and a hardware RS232 no USB>RS232.
Netinstall has been allowed in the firewall, its running as administrator and yet I cannot see the router, ideas?

Make sure Net Booting address belongs to the same network, but it does not equal to your computer address.
What do you see at RouterBOARD console (when board is searching for Netinstall)?
