How to enable system health ?

Thu Jul 14, 2011 4:01 am

Hello,

I have setup a new x86 MT box. Everything normal but /system health not working, it says disabled (i have attached screen shot). How to enable "system health menu" to see voltage, temperature and fan speeds?

My configurations are following:

MB: Intel Desktop Board DH61WW
CPU: Intel Core i7 2600K
HDD: Corsair 40GB SSD
MEM: 2 GB DDR3 1600 MHz Kingston Hyperx
NIC: IBM 31P6401 NetXtreme 1000T Dual Port Ethernet - Broadcom BCM5704 chipset

Thank you.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think you need a routerboard for this function to work. Maybe also your chipset is not supported.

NOT working on X86
I have routerboard and x86 MTs and this feature working on all of them except one that I have mentioned this topic.

For example in following hardware i can see the system health menu.

MB: Gigabyte GA-G33M-S2
CPU: Intel Core 2 QUAD Q8300
HDD: 160 GB SATA
NIC: Mikrotik RB44GV PCI 4-port Gigabit Ethernet adapter (VIA VT6122 Chipset)

I have reattached two pictures. One my new MT that has this problem, and another belogs above hardware that has enabled system health menu.

Also I see that three unknown PCI devices, in Host bridge, ISA bridge and PCI bridge categories in my troubled x86 MT.

Intel Desktop Board DH61WW has Intel H61 Express Chipset. Is it not fully supported by Mikrotik?

Do you advice me to change mainboard? And also which board is the best for Mikrotik that supported Intel Core i7-2600K processor?

Any help appreciated.

Thank you.

Is it really even working on your other machine? What I mean is, if it is an x86 (PC) where are the +12 and +5 volt rails? what is it monitoring in the voltage? Also, what the heck is reading at -2 degrees C, is this board outside in the snow?

Sorry, I know this really doesn't help, but it seems strange to me.

Yes working. I don't know why third temp. value is -2 but all other values are working correctly.

health must work on all x86 rbs if it is supported by the linux kernel (most are) but then support is removed by mikrotik
we have the same problems and would like it to work as we use it to monitor the rb
instead of trying to keep ros small rather add the support for the motherboards as x86 users have enough space for a bigger ros

we don't remove support for anything. if the linux kernel supports it, we display it.
