Web-Proxy problems new ISP and faster network line

Wed Aug 24, 2011 4:32 pm

Hello, i've got a problem with mikrotik RB600A running 4.5ros.

Old ISP provider had 4mbps internet line, and Web-Proxy worked just fine - some site filtering etc.
Now there is new ISP with 100/100mbps Line, and trying to open web page port 80 from network through proxy it starts to load very slow,
but if i disable NAT 80 in forward to 8080 like in Web-Proxy manuals everything goes just fine.
So the question is - is speed to fast for mikrotik cpu to filter proxy or there should be another broblem - like i don't know, with ISP?
Any suggestions would help. If you need any cfg to see let me know.
thx.

There is no Mikrotik product that has a CPU fast enough to proxy 100Mbps worth of web traffic. The built in proxy is for low performance and few users. If you need to provide a proxy at such speeds you'll have to build a dedicated proxy device. Squid is a very good product for that.

It's still not a very good proxy for lots of throughput. I'd strongly recommend getting a dedicated proxy.
