Router needs rebooting every few days

Mon Aug 29, 2011 5:56 pm

We're seeing that our mikrotiks need to be rebooted every few days in a few of our locations. We've replaced them with new units after testing them in house for days on end and we are still seeing the same issue. They just lock up, then we simply power cycle them and they come back up. We're running 4.17 on all of them but this is starting to be a show stopper for us. The power supplied to them is steady, no spikes or other issues that we can see. Has anyone else seen this, is there a solution or something else besides power supply I should be checking on to fix this from happening?

Are you using wds on your bridges?
if so activate rstp on every bridge that is using wds.

Chances are that you are getting wds loops and the unit is getting kernel panic due to this...

Can you clarify the bridging questions, my understanding of the bridges is there are a couple ways to bridge using the tik?

For the wlan interface
if you added dynamic/static and added a bridge under the WDS tab the wds in the wireless settings
for the corresponding link, it will be added to the bridge

If this is not your scenario then you have to look for an other solusion to your problem
