PPoE

Wed Sep 28, 2011 2:05 pm

Hello.

I'm using PPoE in the way to prevent unauthorized IP adress use, but the clients still can use a static IP to bypass the PPoE.

What can I do using MikroTik 3.5?

Thanks you for accorded time!

My logical structure looks like:

Ether1 ----- There are the WAN VLANs
Ether2 ----- There are the clients

Will PPoE still work if I unlink the interfaces? (my stoping forwarding the IP adresses)

Thanks you!

PPPoE server is running on the Ether2 interface? Check "/ip address" menu and see what IP you have on Ether2. Remove it if there is one. Then, only PPPoE clients will be able to access the internet.

Thanks you! That really helped me, but I doubt I can offer you a karma point (sice you are a Mikrotik official staff member).
